You can enjoy an unmatched and mesmerizing panoramic train journey, as you pass through the ancient towns of the Incas. Your 3.5-hour journey starts from Cusco (Poroy Train Station) to Aguas Calientes in style through the alpine meadows nestled amongst the green, brown and white peaks, the intricately formed valleys, layers of handmade Inca farming terraces, ridged snowcapped mountains and sub-tropical jungle near the Amazon up to Aguas Calientes.Transported by shuttle bus from Aguas Calientes to begin your connection to the natural world and cultural show at the citadel of Machu Picchu (2,400m/7907ft), catch yourself as you travel back in time to this magical place, sacred and mysterious, with the name of Machu-Picchu, “The Old Sacred Mountain.”  Take your time exploring the majestic Machu Picchu, the Incan ruins rich in history of its past and the thriving culture of the people who once resided there.

Machu Picchu Tours

Wake up early to rise to a new day of adventure and mindfulness sharing the day with our majestic Machu Picchu. We pick you up at your hotel 6:30am and then drive in our private van to Poroy-Cusco Train Station to leave at 7:35am (in off-season January through April, we pick you up at 6:00am from Cusco to Ollantaytambo Train Station for the 8:00 am Vistadome Train)

Travel through the alpine meadows nestled amongst the green brown and white peaks, the intricately formed valleys, layers of handmade Inca farming terraces, ridged snowcapped mountains and sub-tropical jungle near the Amazon, from Ollantaytambo the sacred Vilcanota River will be our companion until arrival at Aguas Calientes.

Your guide will meet you at the train station at 10:52am. You will have just a few minutes to get a sandwich or something for lunch before being transferred to Machu Picchu on the shuttle bus.  (2040mt/7907ft). Following in the ancient and remote footsteps of the Lost City of the Incas, listen carefully the 2.5 hours of guided tour and cultural exchange of the history of Machu Picchu. You will then be gifted with free time to explore, take photos, or hike to the Sun Gate.  Returning to Aguas Calientes, you will catch the early evening Vistadome train 5:23pm train to Poroy, where we take you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving approximately by 10pm.  **See note below for rainy season.

***Note that from January through April the Vistadome Train runs only from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu and from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo train Station.

EXTRA HIKES

  • Hiking up to the SUN Gate: (no ticket is needed). It takes an hour hike from where you may enjoy the amazing angle view of Machu Picchu- a 2-hour round trip hike.
  • Inca Bridge: (no ticket needed). It is a 25-minute walk from the citadel, great views.

Surrounded by glass, in cars with large panoramic windows on the side and ceiling, offering incomparable scenic views and numerous opportunities to capture amazing pictures. The Vistadome has a different service, which allows the visitor to be immersed in the Andean Culture through its landscapes, music, dance and even food, carefully prepared with local ingredients.

The Vistadome train provides travelers with on board personalized and first class service to give them an unforgettable lifetime experience.  It also has air conditioning and heating, leather seats that adjust the body to provide comfort and relaxation during the entire trip.

You start your journey at the Poroy station located about 25 minutes from downtown Cusco, the journey to Machu Picchu lasts just over three hours you arrive at Aguas Calientes. Peru Rail is concerned about every detail of a passengers needs in this unique experience.

Your return journey is from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo the Sacred Valley of the Incas a journey lasting 2 hours.  When you arrive at Ollantaytambo, you will transfer to a private van for your trip back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel at about 10pm.

DEPOSIT:

In order to make a reservation with Wayna Peru Travel you are required to make a $200 deposit for each trek and a $ 50 deposit for Day Tours. The deposit should be paid via PayPal. . All deposits are unfortunately non-refundable as they are used to secure your reservation (by purchasing permits, entrance tickets, etc.).

REMAINING BALANCE:

The remaining balance can be paid upon your arrival to Cusco and we ask that this be paid at least 36 hours prior to your tour. If you are not able to arrive in Cusco this far in advance of your trek, we ask that you notify your travel agent in advance to make arrangements. You can pay the remaining balance with Peruvian Soles, Dollars (or a combination).

CANCELLATIONS:

All primary deposits are unfortunately 100% non-refundable. However, the earlier you notify us of a cancellation, the better we can assist you. Please send all cancellation notifications to info@waynaperutravel.com.

If you cancel 8 weeks or more days before departure: Cancellation fees equal the amount of your deposit.

8 weeks to 4 weeks before departure: 60% of the total tour price is due.

4 weeks to 5 days before departure: 80% of the total tour price is due.

5 days to 36 hours: 90% of the total tour price is due.

36 hours or less before departure: 100% of the total price is due.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS:

Visitors are responsible for ensuring that they have valid visas and / or passports. Passports are required to be valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of travel.

CHILDREN:

All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Discounts may apply for children under the age of 12.

PRICES:

Prices are per person.

REFUNDS:

Refunds are processed to the credit card(s) used for the original payment.

TRANSFERS:

For your safety, comfort and convenience, we are the only company in Cusco that offers free transfers to and from the airport to your hotel on arrival and departure. Please send us your exact arrival time in advance. (ONLY FOR TREKS & PACKAGES)

TIPS:

Tipping in Peru is completely voluntary. Tipping guidelines are provided with your final travel documents that are provided during your tour briefing, held the day before your tour.
