Inca Jungle Trek 4 Days: We combine stunning views of the Andes by biking into the Amazon jungle from Cusco in the cloud forest and then hiking the Huacayupana Inca Trail to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo. We will continue traveling along the train tracks from Hidroelectrica until we reach Machu Picchu Pueblo, enjoying an incredible tour of the ruins.

DAY 1 Cusco – Santa Maria (Bike Tour Experience).

We leave the city of Cusco towards the Sacred Valley and the Abra Malaga pass. Once we get to the Malaga Pass, we get ready to start our bicycle tour along the paved track until we reach the vicinity of Carrizales and Huaman Marca. We have lunch in the town of Santa Maria.

The places and microclimates are varied because we start the bike tour at the heights of the Andes and then gradually descend toward the Huiro jungle.

07:00–08:30 Start the trip from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, “Sacred Valley.”
08:30–09:00 Breakfast in the town of Ollantaytambo “NO INCLUSION“
09:00–10:30 Continuation of the trip from Ollantaytambo to the Abra Málaga Pass
10:00–13:00: Start the bike tour from Abra Málaga to Huamanmarca. “Scott bikes with front suspension and hydraulic brakes, sizes m and s.”
13:00–13:30 Transfer by vehicle from Huamanmarca to Santa María.
13:30–14:00 Lunch in Santa María.

OPTIONAL EXTRA SERVICE

15:00–17:00: River Rafting in the Lower Urubamba River
17:00–17:30 Transfer by vehicle from the river to the lodging in Santa María.
17:30–19:00 Free time to settle in “basic accommodation,” rest, or walk through the town of Santa María.
19:00–19:30 Dinner and explanation of the second day of the tour

Note: The schedule of the activities depends on the travelers’ experience. This itinerary is a base itinerary. The tour guides will make the best decisions for the group.

DAY 2 Santa Maria to Santa Teresa (Trekking + Hot Springs).

We walk through the mountain jungle and the Inca Trail of Huaycayupana, passing coffee plantations. It does recommend bringing water, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent.

We will have an incredible experience observing a coffee demonstration and some animals in the area. Once we conquer the hiking pass of the Amazon Jungle Inca Trail, we begin to descend toward the native community of Quellomayo to have our local lunch.

We then continue the hike upriver to the local cable car to cross to the other side of the river. A few steps away are the beautiful thermal baths of Cocalmayo, an ideal place to relax for about two hours and enjoy an ice-cold drink. The last journey is made by local vehicle until we reach the town of Santa Teresa to go to our lodge

06:45–07:00 Local transportation service from Santa María to the start of the Inca Trail “15 minutes of travel.”
07:00–12:00 Walk through the Inca Trail of the jungle.
08:00–08:30 The demonstration of coffee in the hut is an hour’s hike up from the beginning of the Inca Trail.
12:00–13:00 Lunch in the Quellomayo community on the banks of the Urubamba River
13:00–16:30: Walk to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo.
16:30–18:30 Time to enjoy the thermal baths of Cocalmayo. After the thermal baths, take a cold Cuzqueña beer. “Not included.”
18:30–18:45 Transfer service in local transport from the thermal baths of Cocalmayo to the town of Santa Teresa
19:30 Dinner and Rest in the standard lodging in the city of Santa Teresa

Santa Teresa Overnight: Plaza Santa Teresa; ex-Yakumama

DAY 3 Santa Teresa – Hike from Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes

One of the morning activities is to cross from one side of the mountain to the other to experience the zipline; there are several cables so visitors can feel the adrenaline rush of flying like a condor. At the end of the zip line tour, we go by local transport to the Hidroeléctrica train station. From this sector, we begin our three-hour walk to the town of Aguas Calientes, following the path of the railway train. In different walk sectors, we will observe different panoramic angles of the enigmatic citadel of Machu Picchu.

07:45–08:15: Transfer in local transportation to the zip line base camp.
08:15–09:00 Registration and equipment for harnesses for the zip line tour
OPTIONAL, NOT INCLUDED
- 09:00–11:00 Zipline activity: “There are four cables plus a suspension bridge.”
- 11:00–11:40: Transfer service from the Tyrolean base camp to Hidroeléctrica
11:40–12:15: Walk from Hidroeléctrica to the restaurant with a view of Machu Picchu from the banks of the Urubamba River
12:15–12:45 lunch.
12:45–13:30 Rest in the hammocks at the restaurant.
13:30–16:00: Walk from the restaurant to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).

Machu Picchu Town Overnight: Qusiqoyllor Hostel

This day is also subject to the physical conditions of the group or members of the group. What will make the best decisions on this day? The schedules may vary.

DAY 4 Machu Picchu Guided Tour + Train to Ollantaytambo

At 07:00, the bus service from Machu Picchu Pueblo to Machu Picchu Ruins takes “25 minutes of travel.” Before entering Machu Picchu, we must personally present our ticket and passport. The guided tour takes approximately two hours to explore Machu Picchu’s Inca citadel fully.

10:00 – 11:00 OPCIONAL has not included Huayna Picchu or Montaña hiking.
10:00–14:00 Free time in Machu Picchu Pueblo Visitors can choose to go to the thermal baths of Machu Picchu Pueblo or walk the Inca Trail back to Machu Picchu Pueblo from the ruins of Machu Picchu.
At 14:00, the whole group must be inside the train station facilities at this time. “The general regulation of trains in Peru is that if the client is not 30 minutes before the departure of his or her service, he or she will not be able to board the train.”
At 14:30, train departure: INCA RAIL; train class: The Voyager 44; route: MACHU PICCHU-OLLANTAYTAMBO and CUSCO.

In order to make a reservation with Wayna Peru Travel you are required to make a $200 deposit for each trek and a $ 50 deposit for Day Tours. The deposit should be paid via PayPal. . All deposits are unfortunately non-refundable as they are used to secure your reservation (by purchasing permits, entrance tickets, etc.).

REMAINING BALANCE:

The remaining balance can be paid upon your arrival to Cusco and we ask that this be paid at least 36 hours prior to your tour. If you are not able to arrive in Cusco this far in advance of your trek, we ask that you notify your travel agent in advance to make arrangements. You can pay the remaining balance with Peruvian Soles, Dollars (or a combination).

CANCELLATIONS:

All primary deposits are unfortunately 100% non-refundable. However, the earlier you notify us of a cancellation, the better we can assist you. Please send all cancellation notifications to info@waynaperutravel.com.

If you cancel 8 weeks or more days before departure: Cancellation fees equal the amount of your deposit.

8 weeks to 4 weeks before departure: 60% of the total tour price is due.

4 weeks to 5 days before departure: 80% of the total tour price is due.

5 days to 36 hours: 90% of the total tour price is due.

36 hours or less before departure: 100% of the total price is due.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS:

Visitors are responsible for ensuring that they have valid visas and / or passports. Passports are required to be valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of travel.

CHILDREN:

All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Discounts may apply for children under the age of 12.

TIPS:

Tipping in Peru is completely voluntary. Tipping guidelines are provided with your final travel documents that are provided during your tour briefing, held the day before your tour.
